Growing Natural Herbs in your Home Garden
Natural herbs and mankind have a long history together. Many people associate natural herbs, such as sage, dill, and others, with their culinary uses. Indeed, cooking is perhaps the most important use of natural herbs. However, natural herbs have also historically been used for many other purposes such as the treatment of diseases. Natural herbs grow readily in the wild. Therefore, it is quite simple to grow your own natural herbs in your home garden.
The first thing
to consider when planning your natural herbs garden is the size.
Larger gardens can grow more natural herbs, and allow for a wider
selection of herb types. Natural herbs are commonly grown in pots, but
can also be grown in the ground as part of a vegetable garden. The
most important thing to remember when growing natural herbs is that
almost all natural herbs commonly used in America will not thrive in
excessively moist soil. Therefore, natural herbs should either be
grown in pots where the soil moisture can be controlled, or they
should be planted in an area that has sufficient drainage to prevent
the soil from becoming waterlogged.
